Getting Married?Here's How:

  1. Find your nearest County Clerk's Office by calling 574-5700, then press 2 and then press 1.
  2.  Or use the Jefferson County Courthouse Office 110.
  3. Both parties must come with photo ID.
  4. Do not apply unless you are within 30 days of your wedding, they are only valid 30 days.
  5. They will also ask questions about education level, prior marriages, and yes, relationship to the other person.

Tips:

  1. If either party is 16-18 a parent and two subscribing witnesses must come to this application. Custody papers as well.
  2. If the bride is under 16 a judge must grant permission for the marriage.
